Madhubani Painting, also known as Mithila Painting, is a Folk Art practiced mainly in India and Nepal alongside the area of Janakpuri of ancient times. The paintings usually depict rituals such as marriage, birth, festivals, or various events from Hindu Epics. The colors used were typically extracted from Nature, but now artists use fabric and acrylic colors. Nowadays, artists also use fusion ideas, but elements of authentic Madhubani Paintings include Fish, Parrots, Elephants, Sun, Moon, and Lotus.
